Shipping & Returns

International Shipping & Customs Policy

At Riff Pedal Co., we want to get our sounds onto pedalboards worldwide. However, shipping high-quality gear across borders involves a bit of paperwork and potential local fees. Please read our policy before placing your international order:

1. Duties and Taxes (DDU)

All international orders are shipped DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid). This means:

  • Riff Pedal Co. does not collect VAT, GST, or any other import taxes at checkout.

  • You, the customer, are responsible for paying any import duties, taxes, and brokerage fees required by your local customs office.

  • These fees are determined by your government and are usually collected by the mail carrier (UPS, DHL, or your local postal service) before delivery.

2. Accurate Customs Declarations

We are required by law to declare the full value of our pedals (and any other gear) on all customs forms.

  • We use HS Code 8543.70 for all effects pedals.

  • Please Note: We cannot mark items as "Gifts" or lower the declared value to avoid taxes. Doing so is a violation of international trade laws.

3. Refused Shipments

If you choose to refuse your package because you do not wish to pay the customs fees, the package will be returned to us.

  • In this event, we will refund the cost of the pedal minus the original shipping fees and any return shipping costs incurred by Riff Pedal Co.

4. Delivery Timelines

While we ship orders fast and use shipping partners’ express options where available, customs processing in your country can sometimes cause delays. Once the package leaves our shop, we have no control over how long it sits in a customs warehouse. We appreciate your patience while your local officials do their thing!

Warranty & Returns

At Riff Pedal Co., we build gear to be stomped on. We take pride in our craft, but we know the road can be tough. Here is how we handle things if your tone isn't behaving.

The 2-Year "Riff-Proof" Warranty

Every pedal we ship is covered by a 2-year limited warranty from the date of purchase.

  • What’s covered: Defects in internal parts or craftsmanship (e.g., a faulty capacitor or a bad solder joint).

  • What’s NOT covered: Damage caused by using the wrong power supply (always check your voltage!), spilling your drink on it, DIY "modifications," or general cosmetic wear and tear from life on a pedalboard.

Returns Policy

Because we are a small, owner-operated shop, we have a specific return policy:

  • Defective Gear: If your pedal arrives with a genuine manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace it.

  • Shipping: For all returns, we will cover the cost of shipping the unit back to our workshop. We will provide a shipping label so that we can track our packages.

  • Change of Mind: We do not offer returns or exchanges for "change of mind." We put a lot of work into our demo videos so you can hear exactly what you’re getting before you hit buy. If it’s not the vibe you were looking for, the used market for Riff Pedals is a great place to pass the tone along!
